All Generalizations Are Wrong!

Sunday, for another hour or so. Daylight Savings Time is messing with my head!

The usual Sunday today - 2 church services, with food and rest in between. Did some video editing also - just finished it now actually. I'm trying to get a little more elaborate with my Favorite Scene of the Day posts, including more shots from the film, a synopsis, and some layover audio to add to my usual nonsense about Oscar nominations, and me saying it was a "great film" about 30 times.

In fact, I guess I should post it here. Let me know what you think, eh!

I'm getting some good feedback about the comics, so I think I'll continue for the time being. I didn't have the time to crank one out today, but maybe tomorrow. I'm pondering the structure of the strip, and I have some ideas. Hopefully you'll enjoy the results. Stay posted!

On This Dayve In History:

50 Years Ago Today: March 8th, 1959: Groucho, Chico and Harpo Marx had their final TV appearance together.

In their honor, I give you some Groucho Marx quotes...

"I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book."
"I intend to live forever, or die trying."

"I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception."

"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made."

and for ironic comparison, I give you a couple quotes from Karl Marx...

"Democracy is the road to socialism."
"History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce."

I was trying to be funny with the Karl Marx quotes, but actually, I think I agree with those two!

Marla and the rest got back from Mexico in one piece, with a "good report". (That's 'Christianese" for "we did churchy stuff and everyone had fun.") Marla told me tonight that she would go anywhere in the world with the crew she went down to Mexico with. She loves those folks.

Read more of Bakker's book last night. I'm finding it more difficult to maintain a level of interest. I'm contemplating shelving it. We'll see.

Guess that's that for tonight. Until tomorrow, remember, the reward for a job well done is more work!

Current Book: The Darkness That Comes Before, by R. S. Bakker
Current Game: UT99 (Excessive Overkill mod)
Current Bible Study: Still in Isaiah
Current Movie: Rock-N-Rolla (very weak - 2/5 stars) and My Name Is Bruce (silly fun, 3/5 stars)
